REPOSITORIES
Data repositories play a key role in modern data management, especially in an ever-changing environment with ever-changing requirements. Some disciplines require certain repositories, in some fields it is rather uncommon to publish data at all (time to change!).
Here is a list of repositories, but please note PANGAEA is the only repository that is integrated in the O2A framework and where active cooperation and development takes places with regards to O2A.
- https://pangaea.de -- the O2A-go-to repository for georeferenced observational data, hosted and operated by marum and AWI
- https://www.wdc-climate.de -- World Data Center for Climate, hosted and operated by DKRZ
- https://www.ebi.ac.uk -- home of ENA -- sequencing data
- https://ioos.us integrated ocean observing system -- NOAA operated, spatial focus on oceans and coasts of Northern America (including Great Lakes)
- https://arcticdata.io -- primary data repository for NSF funded polar projects
- https://www.ccdc.cam.ac.uk -- Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre, structural chemistry data, software, and knowledge for materials and life sciences
- http://datadryad.org -- generic repository, hosted in US
- https://zenodo.org -- generic repository, operated by CERN
